Event 20 Recap

$400 + $50 No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Thanks to a five-outer and a pair of Aces, Michael Comar came back from a 3:1 chip deficit in heads-up play to win $19,088 and his first Borgata Open trophy.  Steven Lim made a valiant effort to come back after their positions reversed, but despite getting close to even in chips, his AJ could not run down Comar's pocket 3s.  Lim finished second for $10,499.

Borgata regular and perennial local favorite Nancy Martin had the biggest rooting section at the final table.  She was the short stack when they got to three-handed play and busted out soon after, finishing third for $6,045.  Martin has numerous cashes and a couple of final tables here at Borgata, but she's still looking for her first win in a trophy event.

Today's no frills No Limit Hold'em event brought out 164 entrants, who ponied up $65,600 in total buy-ins.  Day two of the 2013 Borgata Spring Poker Open Championship was going on just across the hall while this event played out quietly in the poker room.

The most accomplished player at the final table was Kyle Bowker, who finished 6th for $3,182.  Bowker has more than $1.8 million in reported tournament earnings.

They reached the money with 18 players remaining shortly after returning from their dinner break.  Among those getting paid was Borgata regular and two-time Borgata Open Series titleist 'Grandpa' Jay Zimmet (Manalapan, NJ).  He finished 16th for $954.

Comar is a forklift driver at a carpet company and thanks to having today off, he's now got some extra spending money.  He was here just a couple of weeks ago for the opening event of this series, the $500 Deep Stack NLH.  He finished 36th out of 1,631 entries in that event, earning $2,905.
