$2,500 + $200 Borgata Spring Poker Open Championship NLH
Bobby Oboodi claimed the Borgata trophy and $300,029 in first place prize money in the early morning hours of the 2013 Borgata Spring Poker Open Championship event. Mike Gagliano was the second place finisher after coming to the final table as the chipleader and earned $169,029 for his deep run. Kenny "Super Tuan" Nguyen was the third place finisher and added an additional $108,662 to his career earnings.
The win was a second Borgata championship event win for Oboodi. Oboodi won the 2011 World Poker Tour Borgata Poker Open main event for a massive score of $942,441. With an impressive win already under his belt Oboodi easily held his ground throughout the final table.
"I haven't been anxious this entire time," Oboodi said in the early morning hours as he and Gagliano traded chips back and forth. "Even when I was all in with those tens, I wasn't anxious."
Oboodi earned a double up when he was all-in with pocket tens and cracked the pocket Aces held by Gagliano. Soon after the tournament came to an end.
The official final table was set with the elimination of Russell Crane, who became the 11th place finisher and picked up $15,696. Other eliminations on Day 4 included Chris Klodnicki, who had came into Day 3 as the chipleader and Gordon Eng, who held on with a short stack long enough to cash out for $12,074 as the 14th place finisher. Maurice Paradis, Ricco Quintana, Jared Jaffe, Joseph Brand and Melad Marji were all among the final two table eliminations.
Other final table eliminations were Ketan Pandya in 10th place, Ray Shackelford in ninth Jordan Siegel was the eighth place finisher and Henry Lu went out in seventh place. Orson Young, who took the chiplead near the start of the final table, went out as the sixth place finisher. Vinny Pahuja left as the fifth place finisher and Andy Philachack was the fourth place finisher.
Overall the championship event brought in 502 players, created a total buy-in amount of $1,255,000 and played out over four days. Other notable names to enter in to the main event included Erick Lindgren, Daniel Buzgon, Tom Dobrilovic, Cherish Andrews, Antionio Walker, Dwyte Pilgrim, Will Failla and Michael Marder.
